As I have found in my last Master's class on Educational Research, that often when you consider a source, you must also consider if that person has a bias or the position from which there are reporting information. It is also important to consider many different sources on the same topic.
I have found that there are people who do make money online with free websites and advertising such as Google Adsense, or adverting as affiliate marketers for over thousands of companies and products. Other companies also pay to advertise on sites either hosted free or that have paid hosting, especially on social media such as Facebook. Many people host live Webinars and are paid by those who attend for products sold or for advertisers who pay the people hosting the Webinar for the traffic generated or the list of e-mails generated as potential future customers for their own business or product. Businesses pay for advertising on YouTube and on Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines.
There are businesses who help other people start there own businesses and provide every type of service that business would need from website production to merchant services to advertising and anything else that is specific to that particular business or industry. In fact most businesses that are not web based do have a website and do manage aspects of their business online.
There are also employers who have employees who telecommute from home or other locations using the internet. There are many opportunities for virtual assistants, customer care agents, writers, bloggers, web designers, IT professionals, accountants, bookkeepers, proof readers, editors, tutors, and other professionals who can become either independent contractors or employees of companies and work from home. These jobs require the right skills and the correct equipment to complete the job and often experience. It is possible to gain the experience, you must continue to apply for positions, obtain the right education, and understand that there are millions of people on the internet competing for the same position.
To make a long story short...there are infinite opportunities on the internet and I wanted to correct my post in saying that "no one can make money with a free hosted website"... each person is different and it is all about the time, effort and each person's personal attitude. If you think you will succeed...you will. If you believe you will fail...you already have...
